Former Imperial Valley College Pitcher, Robert Brodell is playing a key part of San Diego State's pitch staff this season. Brodell played the last two seasons at IVC both pitching and playing shortstop. Brodell is now focused only on his pitching as he competes with the Aztecs. So far this spring, Brodell has thrown 12.2 innings for SDSU including, 4 innings vs the University of Utah, 2.2 innings vs Arizona State, 2 innings vs UC San Diego. Brodell's first appereance of the season came vs national college baseball power Texas Christian University (TCU). Brodell has struck out 9 batters in his 12.2 innings on the season and is currently sitting at a 3.55 earned run average, good for 5th best on the team.
