IMPERIAL, CA (6/9/2022) Yeraldine Carrion just wrapped up one of the most dominant seasons for any softball pitcher in California Community College this season. On the year, Carrion threw 130 innings and finished with a microscopic .54 earned run average (ERA). Carrion totaled 268 strikeouts this spring, good for more than two strikeouts per inning. The 268 strikeouts combined with only 16 walks, created a 16:1, strikeout to walk ratio. Yeraldine threw 16 complete games and finished with 13 wins and one save on the season.
Yeraldine's performance throughout the season earned her Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Pitcher of the Year honors. This award is voted on by the PCAC coaches and awarded to the top pitcher in the conference. Carrion was also named to the All State Team, this award is given to the top 18 Softball players in Southern California community college. All state awards are voted on by all of the Community College Softball coaches throughout California.
