Graciela Favela has been accepted to LeTourneau University an NCAA Division III institution in Texas to participate in Women's Tennis during the 2017-2018 academic year.
It was a touching moment for Graciela to sign her Celebratory Signing Form as she recalls all the years of training hard. It was 8 years ago that she began to play tennis with Coach Mike Jr. Palacio during her junior high and high school years in Brawley, CA.
She stated that she is excited to be headed off to Texas to a division III university to play tennis! Graciela played her first year of Women's Tennis this spring here at IVC. She is majoring in Kinesiology and will be finishing it up at LeTourneau.
When asked why do you love to play tennis, she states, "I love that it is an individual sport and I can push myself to play well but it is also a team sport. I also love the support I get from my teammates."
Graciela also shared that she is looking forward to having a new coach for the next 3 years that are left of her college tennis career. She would like to thank her coach, father, and friends for their encouragement and support all these years. She is especially thankful to her father who never pushed her but let her master playing tennis at her own pace.
We would like to congratulate her on making it to the Women's Tennis Team at LeTourneau University and we certainly wish her all the best and great academic success.
