Women’s Softball Wins in Extra Innings Over Grossmont College

In a thrilling display of resilience and determination, our women’s softball team edged out Grossmont College in an extra-inning showdown. The game, which extended beyond the regulation seven innings, showcased both teams’ competitive spirit and highlighted IVC’s clutch performance under pressure.

IVC and Grossmont both had stellar performances from their starting pitchers as the game was 0-0 heading into the 8th inning.

In the eighth inning, IVC’s offense came alive. Key hits and smart situational plays put the Desert Warriors ahead. A crucial 2 RBI double by Lorea Alvardo, broke the 0-0 tie and put IVC up 2-0. Sophomore pitcher Victoria Vallejo shut down Grossmont's offense for 8 innings only allowing 3 hits and striking out 8 batters.
